Удивительная особенность айвы заключается в том, что она, имея золотистый,  приятный внешний вид и тонкий, изысканный аромат, почти несъедобна в сыром виде. Она слишком твердая и вяжущая.

И только после температурной  обработки она раскрывается во всей своей красе — приобретает  чудесный кисло-сладкий  вкус, неповторимый розоватый оттенок, и этот изумительный аромат, который не оставит равнодушным точно уже никого.

Айва прекрасно сочетается с мясом, нейтрализуя его жирность. Особенно хороша она с бараниной. И со свининой хороша, но с бараниной вообще песня. Можно добавить ее в плов, от ее аромата и кислинки он только выиграет. А можно просто запечь вместе.

Можно нафаршировать айву бараньим фаршем. Что бы вы не сделали, знайте — сочетание баранины с айвой  беспроигрышное.

Вот ниже на фото у меня айва, фаршированная сладкой начинкой, а представьте начинку из аппетитных кусочков мяса…

Чаще всего, конечно же, из айвы делают  десерты, да она и создана для них, в ней очень много пектина. Мармелады и джемы из нее невероятно вкусные. Кстати, слово «мармелад» пошло от португальского названия айвы – marmelo.

Этот глинтвейн, скорее всего этакий десертный супчик с большим количеством, отваренных в вине с пряностями, айвовых долек.

Сверху холодное мороженое, щепотка корицы… Вкусно!

 

И о полезном.

Айва  показана для диетического питания, т.к. не содержит холестерина и жиров, при этом содержит много клетчатки.

Айва содержит  много полезных веществ, но содержание железа у нее просто зашкаливает -30мг на 100г продукта! Это же две суточные нормы!

Ученые считают, что айва воздействует на психику и борется с депрессией и стрессами, лечит язву желудка и благотворно влияет на глаза и печень, борется с гриппом.
